Position description
This role is responsible for designing, delivering and embedding people strategies, frameworks and HR activities working in partnership with senior leaders to support business and people objectives.
A key to the role will be working collaboratively as a member of HR & leadership teams, whilst delivering HR Business Partnering services. It has accountability for driving relevant people strategies, initiatives and projects that enhance the culture and employee experience.
This role successfully partners with Executives, senior leaders and their respective teams to ensure they understand current and emerging business challenges and opportunities. It provides consulting expertise across a range of HR matters and delivers a broad range of HR operational services to support the achievement of business priorities and people plans.

HR and business planning
- Develop a strong understanding of the business direction and challenges, providing advice and counsel to people leaders on people-related matters and implementing strategies aligned with the direction set by the Executive team and Board.
- In collaboration with the Executive and fellow HR colleagues, design and deliver people plans that meet specific Business Unit requirements and align to a progressive people approach that enables the business to achieve results.
- Deliver HR programs and initiatives to drive commercial growth and embed a purpose-led culture, with a focus on performance management, talent management, succession planning and engagement action plans.
- Use a sound change management approach to implement and embed companywide HR strategies, plans and initiatives as part of the overall HR Plan.
- Design operating models, that support business priorities. Managing and implementing organisational designs and strategic workforce plans.
- Support leaders in actively managing any employee relations matter.
Operational support
- Partner with the leaders and provide expert advice and coaching in areas such as performance management, employee relations and general people issues as they arise.
- Implement talent, performance and reward strategy, including accountability for driving Business unit annual talent, performance and remuneration review processes.
- Support business leaders with key role recruitment, including active involvement in interviews and selection.
- Manage the implementation of all core/cyclical HR programs and provide feedback to teams to enhance relevance and effectiveness.
Financial
- Drive the delivery of programs and HR initiatives in line with agreed outcomes and budgets.
- Manage and ensure effective compliance and risk management for HR activities.
Culture and performance
- Develop and foster a culture that attracts and retains strong personal and professional skills required to support a complex and challenging business with multiple stakeholders.
- Drive and maintain effective working relationships with other parts of the business to achieve shared corporate objectives and to maintain a holistic view of people opportunities and risks.
Risk
- Manage and address people operational and reputational risks.
About you
Qualifications and experience
- Tertiary qualifications in business, HR or related field.
- Previous track record in HR Partnering at an Executive level across various Business Units.
- Commercially minded and pragmatic approach to driving people outcomes, with experience in predominately Business Partnering, with previous accountability for other HR disciplines.
- Experience in designing organisational structures and workforce plans, with relevant change plans, that lift organisational effectiveness and capability.
- Ability to lead interviews across all levels with experience in competency-based interview styles
- Previous accountability for managing end to end a range of employee relations cases.
- Experience in the financial services sector is highly desirable.
- Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain a relevant Australian security clearance

- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to align HR initiatives with business outcomes.
- Organisational design skills, managing from design through to consultation and through to change implementation.
- A true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement
- Strong stakeholder management capability, with the ability to influence and manage relationships at all levels of the organisation and with external vendors.
- Diplomatic with strong problem-solving skills and business acumen. Ability to develop rapport and become a trusted advisor to the business.
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop leaders.
- Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- High integrity, resilience, openness and transparency.
- Ability to manage multiple competing demands, prioritise work, and meet demanding deadlines with minimal supervision whilst not losing sight of overall strategic objectives.
- Strong stakeholder management capability, with the ability to influence and manage relationships at all levels of the organisation and with external vendors.
- Digitally literate, with experience in utilising HR technology platforms.
- Strong writing and the ability to develop internal communications and prepare a variety of documents including Executive briefing papers and Board documents.
- Hands-on and pragmatic, with a willingness to work as part of a small team to get the job done.
- Attention to detail and demonstrated a high level of competence with the MS Office suite of programs.
