About you
The Lending Operations Officer supports the effective administration and operational management of EFA lending facilities, with a focus on Institutional transactions and the broader Business Finance lending portfolio.
The role is responsible for coordinating and completing lending operations activities across the facility lifecycle, including transaction processing, record maintenance, portfolio monitoring, data checks and stakeholder support. Working closely with Portfolio Management, Finance, Treasury and other internal stakeholders, the role helps ensure lending activity is processed accurately, in accordance with approved documentation, procedures, delegated authorities and control requirements.
The Lending Operations Officer also supports the operational review of facility, security and exposure information to support sound operational decisions, timely issue resolution and accurate portfolio management. The role contributes to reliable customer and stakeholder outcomes by identifying exceptions, escalating issues appropriately, maintaining high-quality records and supporting continuous improvement in lending operations processes
Lending Operations and Transaction Processing
- Review facility documentation and transaction requests from an operational perspective to confirm approved terms, conditions, drawdown requirements and supporting information before processing.
- Process drawdowns, repayments, rollovers, disbursements, fees, bond transactions and other facility events in accordance with approved documentation, procedures and delegated authorities.
- Support amendments, repricing, extensions, restructures and other post-settlement changes, escalating discrepancies, incomplete information and operational concerns promptly.
Facility Administration and Portfolio Support
- Maintain accurate customer, facility, transaction and exposure records to support operational, audit, reporting and portfolio management requirements.
- Monitor maturities, repayment schedules, annual reviews, utilisation levels and other key facility events, escalating exceptions where required.
- Administer bond and other lending facilities across their lifecycle, including related transactions, repayments, discharges and closures, with records and documentation appropriately updated and retained.
Operational Risk, Controls and Compliance
- Review financial, facility, security and exposure information to identify discrepancies, exceptions and operational risks, escalating issues through established processes.
- Maintain complete audit trails and supporting documentation for operational activities.
Reporting, Data and Continuous Improvement
- Prepare operational and month-end reports, perform reconciliations, validate facility, exposure and transaction data, and investigate discrepancies.
Stakeholder and Customer Support
- Build effective relationships and coordinate with Portfolio Management, Finance, Treasury and other internal and external stakeholders to support transaction processing and facility administration
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years working within a lending operations environment
- Relevant experience in lending operations, banking, credit administration, settlements or loan servicing.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline are advantageous but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within operational controls.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple transactions and meet deadlines.
